In-Home Psychotherapy

In-home psychotherapy, also known as home-based therapy, takes place at the home of a person in therapy rather than in an office setting.  Often times it is hard for new parents to find the time to leave their house with a newborn.  Other factors like weather, feeding schedules, and childcare also may present barriers as well.  By offering in-home therapy, I am able to bring support directly to you.  It also allows me a glimpse into your home (with your permission, of course) and may help me provide tips and insight into sleep habits, feeding cues, etc. that are sometimes challenging for new parents.

(In-home counseling is offered to clients who are within the Metro-Detroit area.)

Teletherapy, also known as telehealth or online counseling, consists of support from a distance, most commonly via telephone or video conferencing.  This therapeutic option is ideal for those individuals who work unconventional hours, who cannot leave their home or have unreliable transportation, or who simply don't have time for an extra commute.  Teletherapy allows access to therapy from the comfort of your own home or office, allowing you to discuss delicate topics in a place you are most comfortable.  No driving, no parking, no waiting rooms needed.

(Online sessions can only be with those who live in Michigan, per licensing requirements)

Walk & Talk Therapy

Walk and Talk Therapy, a type of movement therapy, helps promote clarity and positive thinking.  This relatively new method of counseling offers an opportunity to reduce stress and decrease anxiety, while increasing self-esteem, and energy levels.  Exercise, such as walking, allows the brain to release certain "feel good" chemicals called neurotransmitters.  It also increases body temperature which is thought to have a calming effect on the brain.  Walking, while talking, can make it easier for your nervous system to unwind - to stop ruminating thoughts and release physical tension.  Mindfulness can increase: The simple act of walking forward  can literally help your mind move forward as well.

(Sessions subject to weather and location.)

All sessions are baby and bottle/breastfeeding friendly.
